Casual what does it mean?

A casual raiding guild is a group of people who want to see the content of the raids in two days rather than four.  This means that we only have two days to do what the other guilds are doing in four days. It means that we want the raids to be succinct and also fun.  It's really not fun to wipe without learning from our mistakes and wiping to the same things every time.  Having DBM installed is going to be compulsory in future raids to help us with these things.  People need to be aware of what is going on around them, this is an area in which I have to do some serious work.  Unnecessary damage getting taken is using up the mana of the healers and is not thinking of the team.

In the next few weeks we will be cutting people from the team who are not able to do the appropriate dps or heals and are not willing to learn the mechanics of the fights.  This will include officers and also myself.  If an improvement is not made in avoiding damage or learning the fights people will have to go back to LFR and PuG groups to learn the fights.  I'm not making myself excempt from this rule. It's not fair to those who want to progress through the raid and who are prepared to do the work to get there to be held back by people who lack the skill and the willingness to learn the mechanics.

If you think you can do more to help with raid progression please do it. For those of us who are not up to the standard required we can do LFR's and PuG's together while we gain the skills. If you don't think you would like to continue in the raid team with this new focus please let Holyfyre, Alyiana or myself know via in game mail or chat with one of us when you are online.

Recruiting Disc Priest, Boomy or Hunter

The raiding is going really well at the moment.  We still need to do less mucking around and more killing bosses.  Once we get onto the bosses we are killing them fast and working really well as a team.  

Mfk would like to return to playing his warrior so we are recruiting either a boomy or a hunter for our ranged dps. Our healing team is going well however, we think that a disc priest or a pally healer would make our healing team complete. Filh aka Baranis has leveled his priest, he might need a hand with getting some gear. Also Mandina has offered to try to heal on his mainly pvp Pally. We just need to keep an eye out for a Boomchicken or another hunter and we will have a good balanced team. 

On the note of balance. Our tanks are level new tanking classes apparently Pally tanks aren't that great. Madril is leveling a Monk and Holyfyre is leveling a few different toons one of them is a warrior.  Team make up is something I'd like to discuss in a bit more depth with the team as soon as possible so we can optimize our raiding.

Raiding and Guild Update

It's been ages since I wrote a blog. I've been working, going to Uni and getting old really fast. We've been raiding and our days have changed from Sunday to Monday. We're doing really well with only two Heroic Bosses to complete Highmaul, Imp and Ko'ragh. We will be moving into Heroic Blackrock Foundry this week, everyone is looking forward to wiping lots and learning new fights.

 We have sadly lost a few people notably Elementalgoat, who we really miss turning us into turkeys. Actually he turned me into a turkey just before he left and I fell for it hook line and sinker.  I can't apologize enough for my panic over believing one of the officers was inviting people to a rival guild, who shall remain nameless.

The good news is we have two new regular raiders, my future husband, who calls me "love" and "darling" with the amusing toon name of "Mfker" hunter ranged dps. We also picked up "Aequitas" for our mdps.  Great additions who have fitted right into the craziness, that is raiding with Rifties. Our unofficially guidies Sol, Saroir and Emo aka Pheonix have also been a part of our success in HM Heroic, we look forward to their participation into mythic and Blackrock Foundry Heroic.

I'm so proud of how well we have been going.  I hope we get to keep the great team that we currently have. We are progressing nicely now all we have to do is stick together and enjoy our two days a week raiding.

Don't forget to join our Facebook group and chat.  Another thing to remember is people can use teamspeak or vent when we aren't raiding just to socialize.  We are a very social lot :)

We are considering a guild get together in Brisbane or possibly the Gold Coast somewhere between Sunday the 12th of July - Saturday 18th of July.  Everyone is welcome to come along and camp at my place. We could spend the day at a theme park or something like that. It's open to discussion let me know what everyone thinks.
